While the Wrangler has traditionally been equipped with a V6 engine, the all-new 2018 model gets a turbo-four that provides 270 horses. If you prefer the V6, which ratchets it up to 285 hp, it’s still available as an upgrade. Six-speed manual transmission is standard, but those drivers who prefer an automatic can upgrade to the eight-speed model. A new suspension system helps the Wrangler be just as agile and capable on the highway as it is on the trail. Speaking of the trail, the redesigned Wrangler has 10 inches of ground clearance and can traverse up to 30 inches of water, meaning it can go just about anywhere. Every model has skid plates and includes one of two trail-rated four-wheel-drive systems. You can choose the Rubicon trim for additional equipment such as rock rails.
The 2018 Jeep Wrangler has been updated with weather-proof push-button start and a new handle that makes removing the doors easier than ever. Standard tech equipment includes a 3.5-inch instrument cluster display and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It’s also equipped with two USB ports and both 12-volt and 115-volt outlets. You’ll have more than 72 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded down. For those who want a bit of luxury, leather seats are available.
The 2018 Jeep Wrangler offers more than 75 available and standard safety features, including electronic stability control with roll mitigation, a rearview camera, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross path detection. While the 2018 Wrangler has not yet undergone federal or industry crash testing, it is expected to improve on the scores earned in 2017.
